Babyshoes was established in 1984 by a frustrated father searching for a pair of good quality inexpensive baby shoes for his new born child.
Our founder, Trevor, had just had his first child, and like many wanted to make sure that his baby’s first steps were an enjoyable and comfortable experience.
While away on holiday in Portugal he purchased a pair of childrens’ shoes for his son and found that the level of craftsmanship that went in to the shoes was far better than what was available in the UK.
After returning from holiday Trevor realised that there was a niche in the market within the UK for continental style shoes. Having contacted the Chamber of Commerce, a number of manufacturers in Spain and Portugal were recommended to him.
…27 years on, Trevor has built up a long standing relationship with his suppliers in Portugal and now wants to introduce his shoes to the online world.
